Anxious to expertise what I anticipated to be an exquisite morning getting aquainted with Jan and Gary’s stunning homestead, I used to be up earlier than the morning time. Jan and Gary Hartley have lived in Fairfield Bay at Greers Ferry Lake for 2 years. The primary chicken to hitch the daybreak refrain was a “cawing” American Crow, joined shortly after by Northern Cardinals, Blue Jays, a Pink-bellied Woodpecker and a number of other Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. The “Hartley Wildlife Sanctuary” has beautiful, wide-open views in the direction of Greer’s Ferry Lake with big Publish Oaks and spruce bushes alongside the edges and a hummingbird feeder and a seed feeder on the fringe of the deck.

The 2 hours spent listening, watching and photographing birds on the deck was nothing in need of spectacular! Whereas I didn’t see any new “lifer chicken species”, I did add “lifer pictures” of a chicken species (Carolina Chickadee) I had seen earlier than, however by no means photographed. As well as, I changed a number of horrible species pictures of some birds with some significantly better photographs.
