Over P445K price of smuggled meat seized in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — The Division of Agriculture confiscated smuggled Indian buffalo meat in Dasmariñas Metropolis, Cavite on Wednesday.

The smuggled meat was present in a Kadiwa moist market by way of a joint inspection by the Division of Agriculture Workplace of the Assistant Secretary for Inspectorate and Enforcement (DA-IE), the Nationwide Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), and the Philippine Coast Guard.

Recovered within the inspection have been 1,714.1 kilograms of Indian buffalo meat, price P445,666.00.

The smuggled meat will likely be dropped at an NMIS facility for instant condemnation.

In the meantime, Assistant Secretary for DA-IE James A. Layug requested the general public to report suspicious exercise and to coordinate with the company to spice up meals safety.
